Talks try to resolve Translink’s worsening financial woes

Northern Ireland bus and rail operator Translink has eaten into its financial reserves and may encounter acute financial difficulties this year, the Department for Infrastructure has warned.

In its annual report, the DfI says it is “actively working with the Department of Finance to seek to redress the deficit within Translink’s finances”. In the meantime, it has issued a “letter of comfort” to Translink’s owner, the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company...
