Greater Manchester Combined Authority is to fund free bus travel for 16-18 year olds.
The Opportunity Pass, championed by the conurbation’s Labour mayor Andy Burnham, will initially be implemented as a one-year pilot on 1 September. Young people will pay a £10 administration fee for the smart card pass that could also give discounted access to sporting, cultural and leisure venues.
