Cumbria County Council has secured £102m from the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) for the construction of a southern ring road to connect south Carlisle to the M6.
The single carriageway road will connect the city’s northern development route with junction 42 of the M6, and facilitate up to 10,000 new homes in the St Cuthbert’s Garden Village.
