Councillors in Leeds have approved the Charging Order for the proposed clean air zone (CAZ), which is due to be introduced on 6 January 2020. 

The Class B CAZ will cover a wide area of the city, imposing charges on buses, coaches, heavy goods vehicles, taxis and private hire vehicles (PHVs) that fail to comply with the scheme’s emission standards. 

Non-compliant buses, coaches and HGVs will be charged £50 a day. Taxis and private hire vehicles will be charged 12.50 a day,...
