The official in charge of phase two of HS2 is leaving to take up a job in Canada. The news came as it also emerged that the publication of the hybrid Bill for phase 2b of the project, from West Midlands to Leeds and Crewe to Manchester, is being delayed a year.
Paul Griffiths, managing director of phase two of the project, will leave Government company HS2 Ltd in December to become programme director for the $40bn Metrolinx public transport investment programme in Toronto.
