Road safety charity criticised for opposing default 20 limit

SPEED LIMITS

Andrew Forster
14 September 2018

Campaigners for 20mph speed limits have criticised the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS)  for its refusal to support a Bill that would make 20mph the default limit for roads in built-up areas of Scotland.

Green MSP Mark Ruskell’s proposed Restricted Roads (20mph Limit) (Scotland) Bill would make 20mph the default speed limit on ‘restricted roads’  – those lit by street lights no more than 185 metres apart.
