Heathrow Airport’s pledges on modal shift and road traffic volumes if a third runway is built cannot be trusted, councils opposing the expansion have told the Government.
The comments feature in the response of the London boroughs of Hillingdon, Richmond and Wandsworth, and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, to the DfT’s draft airports National Policy Statement (NPS) (LTT17 Feb). The NPS explains the Government’s support for a third runway at Heathrow.
