The Treasury this week insisted that the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) still had a “crucial role to play” after ministers dropped plans to place the body on a statutory footing.
Legislation on the NIC was to be included in a Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill but the Government last week published a Neighbourhood Planning Bill, which makes no mention of the Commission.
