5G trial will see robot guides navigate railway stations

Robots are to be used at large railway stations, including Birmingham New Street, as part of a new 5G technology trial to improve access to information and build passenger confidence. 

5GER, a collaboration between TrainFX, University of Strathclyde and University of Surrey, is developing the UK’s first 5G-enabled smart train station robot.
