Weardale railway to re-open

The Weardale railway linking Bishop Auckland and Eastgate in County Durham is to be re-opened by a partnership of local authorities, a volunteer supporter's association and a social enterprise company. The railway was re-opened by the Weardale Railway Trust in 2004 but went into administration last year (LTT 13 Oct 05). Social enterprise company the ECT Group, has now teamed up with the Trust and with Durham County and Wear Valley District Councils to re-open the line....
