I was surprised to see at the end of Roger Sexton’s letter recommending that free concessionary bus travel be replaced by half-fare across all modes that he lives in Nottingham, because it is the sort of nonsense usually originating in London, where people actually have a choice of public transport mode (Letters LTT 06 Aug).
