Parkway station angers countryside campaigners

Countryside campaigners have criticised Worcestershire County Council’s proposed parkway rail station near Worcester.

Worcester Parkway would be built where the Birmingham-Bristol and the Oxford-Worcester lines cross, 3.5 miles east of the city. A consultation on the plans is currently underway. 

The Worcestershire branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England says the transport assessment shows a car mode share of 95%,  2% by bus and 1% by bicycle or foot. Only 1% of rail...
