Norfolk County Council wants to trial lower speed limits across rural roads in the north-west of the county, in an effort to cut accidents.

The national default speed limit for non-built-up single carriageway roads is 60mph but the DfT’s Setting local speed limits circular, published in 2013, invited councils to come forward with proposals for  zone-based lower speed limits on rural roads.
