Calls for traffic-free Oxford Street

Momentum appears to be growing for road traffic to be removed from London's Oxford Street, though parties disagree on the timetable.

London mayor Ken Livingstone told business leaders last week that he was still keen to remove buses and taxis and install a tram on London's main shopping street. But he said work would start after the Olympics.
