Hull plans city centre revamp

Hull City Council is preparing a £20m-plus city centre public realm programme ahead of its City of Culture status in 2017. The plans include a better pedestrian connection from the station to the city centre; the pedestrianisation of King Edwards Street; more shared space areas; public art; high quality paving; new lighting; the possible relocation of the William Wilberforce monument to Queen Victoria Square; and the removal of street ‘clutter’.
