High-speed regional services for the NORTH?

 

More connections should be built between HS2 and the classic rail network to allow a wider range of high-speed services to operate, councils in the Midlands and the North are telling Government.  

The Leeds City Region authorities say the current plans envisage only ten trains an hour using the eastern arm of the  Y network from the West Midlands to Leeds and Yorkshire, representing just 50% of capacity.
