Lafarge ousts Kier from Norfork

Norfolk County Council has provisionally awarded Lafarge Tarmac a seven-year highway works contract. Lafarge will take over next April from incumbent contractor May Gurney (now trading as Kier since the recent takeover). It will run for seven years but could be extended to ten years on the basis of good performance or cut to five years for poor performance. It could also be extended to 12 years by mutual consent.
