Cambridgeshire to re-procure bridge after costs rise again

Cambridgeshire County Council is to retender a contract for a bridge to replace a level crossing after the original contractor’s cost estimate jumped for a second time.

The bridge will replace the King’s Dyke level crossing on the A605 near Whittlesey, between Peterborough and March. The crossing handles more than 14,000 road vehicles and 120 train movements each weekday.
