The City of Edinburgh Council has ruled out including a requirement to provide a bike hire scheme in the city’s next street advertising contract. “If the scheme was included within that tender, it is likely that bidders would subcontract [the bike hire] making it a more expensive route to procure for the council,” Mark Turley, Edinburgh’s director of services for communities told councillors.
