Edinburgh revises LEZ implementation

The City of Edinburgh Council is to adopt Glasgow’s approach to introducing low emission zones (LEZ), beginning with a percentage of the city’s bus fleet.

Edinburgh consulted on proposals for a twin-boundary LEZ last spring, one covering the city centre and the other bounded by the A720 city bypass (LTT 24 May 19). At the time, the council said both zones would be implemented by December 2020 but with enforcement phased in.
