Covid may harm tram line funding plan

Covid-19 could force the City of Edinburgh Council to meet more of the costs of the Edinburgh tram extension to Newhaven from reserves.  

Construction of the tram line from York Place in the city centre to Newhaven via Leith Walk is currently underway. The council believes the project can still be delivered within its £207m budget and open on schedule in  mid-2023.
