Torbay Liberal Democrat councillors have called for the scrapping of parking “perks” at the Conservative-run authority. The council ended free parking for staff at the start of September. Staff now pay £1 a day to park, which equals £235 for full time employees working 47 weeks per year. However, councillors can buy a £50 annual parking permit.
