The Government this week announced plans to accelerate major infrastructure investment by launching a state guarantee scheme for projects that have stalled because it is hard to obtain credit.
Applications to Infrastructure UK for the UK Guarantees opened this week. Subject to legislation, the first awards could be in the autumn. Projects must be nationally significant and ready to start construction within 12 months of a guarantee being given.
