Phase one of South Hampshire’s new Eclipse Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) busway, connecting business and residential areas in Fareham and Gosport, has been opened. The dedicated busway has been constructed on a former railway line to enable buses to bypass normal traffic in a congested part of the area and upgrade the public transport offer in a bid to get people out of their cars. The majority of funding for the busway came from a £20m Government grant.
