Further to Anthony Lambert’s comments, I see a clear and prescient need for some MPs to ask Parliamentary Questions on the rail industry’s car parking expenditure at stations. Generally any car park enhancements represent an ‘improvement’ which Network Rail brings onto its asset register, reimbursing the train operator or other funder, with the national costs for this adding to the bill that we, as taxpayers pay out as settlement for Network Rail’s capital...
