Surrey County Council is to cut spending by a third on tendered bus services in two areas but predicts the impact on passenger numbers will be minimal.

Political agreement on revised networks for the north of the county and Reigate and Banstead in the east was reached last week, two years after the review began.

The county currently spends £5.3m on services in the areas. The new network introduced on 28 August will cost just £3.6m – saving £1.75m.
