Steam trains are making a return to London mainline railway termini with a vengeance it would seem.
Late last month, filming of the latest Harry Potter film moved to King’s Cross station, creating much excitement for rail users who were treated to the sight of the Hogwart’s Express at rest in one of the station’s platforms.
Meanwhile, arguments continue about what to do with the disused former Eurostar terminal at Waterloo station, but this summer will see the platforms at the station converted into a temporary theatre to host a production of The Railway Children, complete with live steam train.
We are unsure though of the Safety Case regarding the use of red bloomers as an emergency signal on the mainline railway.
