Councils in Cambridge are reviewing ways to reduce bus emissions after operators criticised a city council proposal for an emissions cap.

Cambridge City Council’s proposed ‘bus emission reduction commitment’ sets a target to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from buses by 50% by 2015, against a 2008 baseline. Each operator would be given an annual emissions budget (measured in grams per week), based on their 2008 baseline emissions. The overall emissions cap would be reduced...
