Regional transport strategies face the axe in Tories’ planning overhaul

The regional tier of transport planning in England will be swept away if the Conservatives win the General Election.

The party’s planning Green Paper, published last week, pledges to scrap the system of regional strategies that identify  transport and spatial development policies across England (outside London).
