A number of figures within the transport industry have received gongs in the New Year’s Honours List.

Stuart Baker, deputy director, national projects, rail and national networks at the Department for Transport has been awarded an OBE, as has Heidi Mottram, the outgoing managing director of Northern Rail, who is to leave the TOC in the coming months to join Northumbrian Water as chief executive.
