A £10m plan to remove traffic jams from central London’s Piccadilly Circus area has been unveiled by Westminster City Council. Two-way traffic would replace the 1960s one-way system where Piccadilly, Haymarket, Regent Street, Lower Regent Street and Shaftesbury Avenue converge. Out-of-date signs and railings would be removed and the area would be revamped with new footpaths and improved lighting installed.
