Scots set to get speed limit setting powers

Scotland will be able to be determine its own speed limits if the Government accepts a recommendation of the Calman  Commission on Scottish devolution.

 “Whilst recognising that different rules of the road may present challenges in terms of driver awareness, the Commission believes that any divergence in permissible speed limits in Scotland is manageable,” it says.
