SNP defends small steps to boosting Aberdeen rail

Opposition MSPs have criticised the SNP Government in Holyrood for watering down plans to improve Aberdeen’s cross-city rail services.

The original Aberdeen Crossrail plans envisaged a 15-minute frequency service across the city from Inverurie to Stonehaven, with new stations, including at Kintore, Newtonhill and Altens.
