Andrew Brian, the chief executive of Blackburn-based bus manufacturer Optare, stepped down from his position citing “personal and family reasons” last week.
Transit understands that the move follows a board meeting of the firm that was held earlier in the week. Brian had led Darwen Group’s acquisition of East Lancashire Coachbuilders in August 2007 and its subsequent merger with Optare this year.
