National Express Group’s Madrid-based Alsa operation returned a strong set of results in its first full year as a subsidiary of the UK group.
Public transport operations in mainland Europe are usually associated with low profit margins, but Alsa is an exception to the rule. Published last week, National Express Group’s full year results for the year to December 31, 2006, show that the Spanish bus and coach operator achieved a 17.8% operating margin.
