Johnson seeks new powers and influence over capital’s transport

Boris Johnson has made a pitch for greater powers over traffic management and rail services in the capital.

In a new manifesto for devolution, London’s mayor said his efforts to tackle traffic congestion were being hampered by the “tight control that the DfT exercises over traffic schemes and signage”.
