Gridserve agrees to CMA’s motorway plans

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has received a commitment from Gridserve that it will not enforce exclusive electric vehicle re-charging rights at key locations on the UK motorway network.

Gridserve owns the Electric Highway, a UK major chargepoint operator. It has offered the CMA legally-binding assurances not to enforce exclusive rights in contracts with Extra, MOTO or Roadchef, after 2026. This agreement covers around two-thirds of motorway service stations.
