Charging hub operator GRIDSERVE and motorway service area operator Moto have added to en route EV charging provision in Scotland.

GRIDSERVE has expanded the Electric Super Hub at Moto Kinross alongside enhanced EV charging provision at Moto Stirling.

At Moto Kinross, the Electric Super Hub has doubled in size from six to 12 ultra-rapid charging bays, all equipped with 350kW-capable chargers to meet growing driver demand.

Meanwhile, the charging facilities at Moto Stirling have also been upgraded from four low-power bays to six ultra-rapid EV charging bays, with the latest chargers able to intelligently distribute power based on the utilisation of each bay.

These developments build on the recent opening of GRIDSERVE’s Fort Kinnaird Retail Super Hub in Edinburgh.

All the hubs are powered by net zero energy and offer a simple ‘plug in and pay’ two-step charging experience with contactless payment.

Drivers visiting Moto Kinross and Moto Stirling can also take advantage of a range of on-site amenities, including M&S Food, Burger King and Costa Coffee, adding further convenience to every stop.

Daniel Kunkel, chief executive of GRIDSERVE, said: “The expansion of our Electric Super Hub at Moto Kinross and the enhanced charging provision at Moto Stirling mark another important milestone in our mission to deliver the fastest, most reliable and most convenient EV charging network in the country. These locations form critical links within Scotland’s road network, and by increasing both capacity and charging speeds, we are making it easier than ever for EV drivers to travel with confidence.”

Ken McMeikan, chief executive of Moto Hospitality, added: “Our latest investments in Kinross and Stirling mark another key milestone in our mission to revolutionise EV charging across Scotland. This expansion provides a significant boost for drivers on critical routes and demonstrates our continued commitment to ensuring we meet the growing demand for EV infrastructure. By working with GRIDSERVE, we can provide drivers with superfast, reliable charging in the most convenient and well-connected locations.”
