E-bike and e-scooter fires in the UK reached a record high last year, fire brigades data has revealed.
Some 432 e-bike fires were recorded in 2025, representing a 38% rise from the 313 recorded in 2024, and more than five times higher than the 84 recorded incidents in 2021. In 2025 there were 147 e-scooter fires – a 20% increase from the 123 recorded in 2024, with 88 recorded in 2021.
