Developer can continue operating Poole car park

Planning inspector rejects BCP Council objections

A planning inspector has allowed a developer to continue running a car park in Poole despite a council saying it needed to be shut down.

The Quayside Poole car park opened in 2009 but Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council told Stanborough Developments the site could no longer be used for that purpose.

However, planning inspector Paul Hocking overruled BCP Council’s enforcement notice and gave the company permission to use the 100-space site for five years.
