Local Transport Plans should set out EV charging policies, says DfT

EV charging strategy wants public EV chargepoints be aligned with other transport and energy needs

Confirming a requirement for an electric vehicle charging strategy to be published as a detailed supporting document to each Local Transport Plan (LTP).

The Department for Transport’s head of funding reform and delivery Nicole Barton has explained LTPs should include a detailed action plan setting out how public chargepoints will be provided, supported and aligned with the other transport and energy needs of the area.
