Welsh bus reforms delayed again

Legislation to overhaul the deregulated bus market in Wales has been delayed once again, five years after the Welsh Government said it would give local authorities new options to be more involved in bus services.

England and Scotland passed similar legislation several years ago. The Welsh Government published its Bus Services (Wales) Bill in March 2020 but Covid-19 immediately prevented any progress. The current Senedd term runs from 2021 to 2026, but there are already suggestions in the bus...
