Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCT) has submitted a bid to the Levelling Up Fund for help with the £19.4m cost of the A4419 Ely Road Dualling scheme, which would improve connections to the Tonyrefail area, reduce bus journey times and improve opportunities for walking and cycling. Funding of £8m has already been secured, and £11.4m is sought from the LUF. Most planning consents are in place and major advanced utility diversions are being undertaken this year.
