Transport secretary Grant Shapps this week cancelled the controversial Oxford to Cambridge Expressway road project, following its pausing last March.
Highways England began working on the plan in 2014.
The western section of the road, from Oxford to Milton Keynes, was particularly controversial. The section east of Milton Keynes includes the ten-mile A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet improvement that is still proceeding.
