Brexit clears the way for revamp to public sector procurement

A Government Green Paper heralds major changes to how England’s public sector procures transport services

With the UK free from the EU, the Government has wasted no time in publishing proposals to reform public procurement procedures in England. 

A Cabinet Office Green Paper, on which consultation runs to 10 March, proposes replacing the current seven procurement routes with just three. 

Contracting authorities can currently choose from: 

open procedure 

negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice

restricted procedure 

competitive dialogue...
