Covid hits Glasgow’s LEZ plans

Glasgow City Council has announced a delay to the date that its low emission zone (LEZ) extends will cover all types of vehicle. 

The city centre LEZ currently applies only to buses. Glasgow planned to extend coverage to all vehicles from 31 December 2022. But it says this date can no longer be achieved because of Covid-19. 

In August the Scottish Government said the pandemic meant that LEZs would not be introduced in Scotland’s four biggest cities until between February and May...
