DEFRA and DfT likely to take on funding of ACORP

The Association of Community Rail Partnerships is to meet with transport minister Tony McNulty on 11 April to try and secure a long-term funding deal.

Despite the Government promoting the concept of community railways there has been uncertainty surrounding the future of ACORP because its two main funding bodies - the Strategic Rail Authority and the Countryside Agency - are being scrapped.
