The M77 extension and the Glasgow Southern Orbital road opened on 27 April. The 15.2km M77 dual two-lane motorway extension runs from Fenwick to Malletsheugh. The Glasgow Southern Orbital road comprises a 9.2km two-lane dual carriageway road between Malletsheugh and Phillipshill. Both schemes have been built to relieve congestion in Eaglesham, Clarkston, Busby and the surrounding areas.
