Welsh councils fail to take up moving traffic powers

Just two of Wales’ 22 councils have taken up moving traffic offence enforcement powers since they were made available in 2014.

The apathy towards the powers in Wales contrasts with the interest shown by several English local authorities in acquiring powers to enforce offences such as yellow box junction infringements and weight restrictions. With the exception of bus lane infringements, moving traffic offence enforcement is currently a police matter in England outside London.
