Shapps approves Cornish road plan

Transport secretary Grant Shapps has approved Highways England’s Development Consent Order application to dual the A30 between Chiverton and Carland Cross in Cornwall. The £290m  8.7-mile project features off-line dualling, with the majority of the existing road being kept as a local route. The project will complete a dual carriageway between Camborne and the M5 at Exeter. A construction partner is in the process of being appointed and main construction works should start later...
